underwater primer - which?

I'm just about to put a barrier coat on the yacht I am building but I'll be using Altex Barrier Coat.
I just did a google and found Intershield has aluminum in it. What is your hull made of? My Altex No 5 must not be used on an aluminum hull so be careful.

I've done a lot of reading. Maybe you should look at this article as he seems to know what he is talking about. http://www.epoxyproducts.com/barrier4u.html

Apparently thickness is vital so don't go light with the paint. I'll be using a 5mm nap roller and I think I'll have to put on about 5 coats. I will keep going until I use it all up.

I am using Altex No 5 but it is NOT suitable for aluminum boats.

Whatever epoxy barrier you use check to find out how soon a coat of anti fouling should be painted over the barrier coat. To get proper adhesion I have to paint a coat of anti-fouling on the SAME DAY day as the last coat of epoxy barrier coat.

I favour Jotun though the one I used was Penguard HB, one of the reasons was that they supply a low temperature additive which makes it possible to apply outdoors in Scotland.
The final coat was Vinyguard 88 before antifouling. Vinyguard is a versatile product, I have used the surplus to rust protect a yacht cradle and to prime our pitch pine fascia boards at home, easy to use, effective and durable.
