I picked up the new AB dinghy the other day and then saw jfm's blingtastic post. And as luck would have it mrs tcm had gone bit bonkers in the aeroplane over to carib and bought loads of junk toys, including crap 2-way radios i threw away, and LED torch which i didn't. The torch has several buttons for white, blue, green and red. Hm. So, I put in in a little waterproof plastic bag free with villebrequin swimming shorts, and gaffer taped it to the underneath of the sponsons and yeehah! underwater lights! Ok, so it's a bit of a lashup, but i bet this is the first underwater lights on a dinghy eh? In fact, to coin a phrase, ahem, first in the world, ever! Bit damp changing the colours though.

Ooh fantastic! World first eh - EME mite have summink to say about copying the Lumishore Drivelites...

Sorry I\'d like to claim world first

Actually TCM it can't be a world first, my boat was the first to be fitted with the commercial version Lumishore drivelite attached to my Volvo drive leg as per JFM's diagram. Seen here in sunny Wales in October 08 onthe cover of Lumishore's web site.
World's first here !!!!

It has been a while since we had a forum kangaroo court ;-)

You need to contact EME knee Learner, my boat was used as one of many trial boats and I didn't get to hang on to them, different models have differen price points. I will be buying a set though once I've sorted out some basics like being able to start the engine and charge the batteries...

PS they are awseome, photos don't do them justice , they are really very bright indeed and the colour changeability is too cool for school.... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The drivelite is perfect for the rib, you can fit them to the drive just by tilting the leg and clamping them to the plates and run a cable into the boat and connect to the battery.

I believe they run off 12v or 24v, not sure of the cost as they have stainless steel body versions and bronze alloy etc. You really need to PM EME as he can help you with pricing and where/ how to buy.

I'd put them lights anywhere, sexy stuff ... mind you I've just spent 15 minutes giggling at TCM's original post.

Where was he when we needed him ? ... that would have been a couple of years development time saved ?

Yes, I've been very good and not been pushing www.lumishore.com, but couldnt resist this time. Although when JFM posted those pics of his full colour change units it was very tempting, especially when Coliholic raised his head !

Englander -- if you are interested we also do a 'Riblite' which is a Drainplug replacement . Ill pm you.

Miami Boat Show report --- folks here reporting that its much quieter then normal but some stunning boats here. Don' t buy a new boat ... put some lights on the one you've got.

EME - Brilliant - better than "vor sprung durch technic" yiou should be in sales and marketing ;-)

You will be first to know if we go for a new boat with led lights. Defo Lumishore!

SoF relatively warm today 12 degrees in the shade, hope it is warmer in FL.

Cheers
