Lumishores wouldn't suffer that. The light fitting has a thermistor in it and if temp rises too much the electronics know and they dim the lights. I have RGB Lumishores under the two vases below since 2013 and they have never seen water but never failed.I had some OEM u/w lights on my previous boat and those used to fail regularly because they were too near the waterline and got overheated if they were clear of the water. Not sure whether the Lumishores would suffer in the same way
Ah, good to know that because once in a while I have inadvertently left them switched on during the day time and of course on the plane I guess they are clear of the waterlineLumishores wouldn't suffer that. I only have 3 poverty spec Lumishores across a beamy boat but they still give plenty of light for late night dips and attracting fish.
Thanks for all the advice. Light positions have now been agreed 200mm below waterline. Just a basic set of 3

Will post a picture in a couple of weeks, not sure how excited to be as the lights are only about £330 quid a piece...
Not intentional, I'm far to dim to come up with such a bright comment but thank you for illuminating me on the pun and your help in this thread. It's great being led by experience.Ho, ho, ho![]()
I don't understand your comment "underneath the trim tabs"
