Our club being within the port authorities limits in Southampton, with a 6 knot limit, we are plagued by speedboats taking a shortcut through the moorings. Someone WILL be killed someday, but the law is never enforced. This is a typical government reaction to make more and more lstupid aws - one crime must surely be prosecuted under a hundred laws by now - and no way to enforce them.

I would remind you that the govt brought out a law banning the use of mobile phones when driving. You could already be charged with driving without due care and dangerous driving for this and I believe that carried a higher penalty than the new law. Now consider how it would be if the neighbourhood watch leader had made it illegal on his estate to drive in daylight without dipped headlights? Ignorance is no defence...

Please support the rejection of such undemocratic rubbish!
