un known wooden boat

Hi Pink Panther sorry for the late reply, yes you are spot on! I have taken off all dodgy paint and Varnish to show faint markings of the makers name (Brensal Boats Ltd) with more digging I found an old boat show advert from 1962 promoting the Brensal Princess! Mine is now striped of all parts ready for the winter sanding if you have pics of yours I would love to see them as I can only find GRP versions from later on line.
Thanks

Mike

My boat has a tiny facebook page "BPMKII Parsnip" that has photos of the boat on it. The photos are too large to upload apparently and I apologise. But from what little I have found I assume there were upto 3 versions of the princess. The MKI was wooden hull which is yours and mine is a mkII which is identical apart from the hull material. I have seen a potential modified restored princess online and it has vastly different side windows but the authenticity of the side windows is arguably due to the potential modifications

Thanks, its my first real project while still having the day job, so Saturday mornings only. I am pleased so far but have had a few problems understanding Primers and gloss coats:-( still at lead it has had plenty of sanding. Another sand tomorrow and one more coat of primer then ready for the Oxford blue Gloss, I may change the white to cream?

Hi All, I am still trying to find other Brensal Boats owners with wooden boats, does anybody have any info at all? I have tried google but all they are showing is build receipts and YouTube that show exhibition's from the 60's, it would be so good to see some original pics of a Brensal Princess to help with the restoration.

Cheers

Mike

Used my phone and got a smaller sized photo. But here she is. My mk2 princess. I also noticed that i never stated the material difference between mk1 and mk2 in an earlier reply. Mine has a fiberglass top and grp hull. I use her as often as I can despite her age. They are built tough and handle extremely well.
