Hi everyone,

First post from a non-boaty type so please be gentle.

My partner is looking to get her first boat - about 22-24' and we have been looking at Ullswater. We've spoken with Dalemain, badgered the hell out of marina owners and other users.

She's got her day skipper course and is looking to do more courses this summer.

Driving back home we saw a board for a private mooring at Rumney Mead - here on google maps

Does anyone have any experience about this place?

Thanks - think we may have driven past this. They did seem to merge into one though! Do you have any details?
You pay an annual fee for access via private road/use of jetty/water etc. The actual mooring tackle is owned and maintained by each individual user. There are usually several unoccupied ones which you could buy from the last owner- I sold mine for £70 a couple of years ago. If you call in to the moorings I am sure someone will be able to give you details, phone number etc.

I use Dalemain, their prices are very good. (I have a mooring at Euesmere). 6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other, as we also have a mooring on Windermere, far more expensive, but more facilities and free Public jetty use. Depends what you are looking for.

Talk to Jarred at St Patrick's boat hire/cafe at Glenridding, he maintains the moorings on Ullswater and usually knows what is available.
