UK\'s most expensive road fuel ? (obviously NB)

I have just got back to the office after a 12hr working day in North Wales. I spotted a garage near Ffestiniog selling deisel at 96.9p per litre. Now that has got to be a record, unless of course you know better ?

I regularly pass that place, not surprisingly I have never seen a car on the forecourt. But all fuel is expensive in that area.

Dew, Dew, boys we.re all using Red Deisel by ere so it doesn,t matter by there and over by there we,re using sheep dip not vodca. Baah Baah," GET DOWN SHEP" Hey fair play it is 1435 Hours.(12 Hour Working ay in North Wales)fair play to you too,then drive all the way back to sohewhere,anyway got to get some kip now got to some milking first thing,(Tourists and Motorists that is!)

My guess is that you passed through Penrhyndeudraeth with the little garage opposite the Chemist. My second guess is that the locals don't pay anything like that price - its just us tourists!

My static van is less than 1/2 a mile away in a little park up behind Penrhyn. Last summer one of my motors split a cooling hose and could I find anything in any motorists shop?? Nah, could I 'eck. Motorists shops are full of gadgets, rubbish and toys, nothing for the chap who actually wants to fix his car (or indeed boat).

So... I ended up at the little garage to see if he had any hoses which I could fashion into shape as a stop gap. Oh yes, he had some second hand stuff which was OK, but...£10!!! for a foot long hose?? I was bilked! But what choices did I have?

96p a litre - they're not even trying /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif White diesel was almost that much on Jura 4 years ago, I hate to think how much it is now.

98.9p per litre Buxton Road from Leek. Middle of nowhere, got you by the short and curlies!
