UK Coastguard areas

I thought that identifying the Coast guard control areas would be simply achieved by going on to their website but its not. A lot of the information on the rest of the internet is out of date due to the changes made in the last couple of years.

If anyone can assist I would like to know to which Coastguard Control Room (Callsign) I would call in the area between Lowestoft and Dover including the Thames and where would the boundary be. A link to an up to date map would be ideal.

I'd just come up on channel 16 calling "coastguard" and whoever answer will respond with "Thames (or whatever) coastguard"........

Dover now seem to have taken over the Thames area but still use the Thames GC call up if in the old Thames area

As suggested I think you just call 'coastguard' and someone will answer who could be located locally or at head office or anywhere.

If in any doubt ust call Coastguard or more correctly if anywhere within vhf range of the continent UK Coastguard.
