UK adopt Central European Time - Good news for winter boating?

Does anyone know what the Swedes and Norwegians do (if anything) about dst? I'm wondering if they employ anything we can learn about that might be beneficial north of the border.

Adjacent States in the USA are often on different times, so why not Scotland from England/Wales? They have their own parliament, own version money and can decide on free tuition fees etc, so why not be on a different time if they want, just don't stop the 80% of us living south of the border from making a sensible change.

I am well aware there is a fixed number of daylight hours in any given day, please could the business world start at 6am and Finnish at 3pm so I can have a few hours of day light after work?

If the Scots don't want to change, why give them a veto? Just let them stay on the present GMT in Winter and GMT plus 1 in summer, while England and Wales go onto European time. Whether you like the EU or not we need to have our times aligned with Europe and our business partners there far more than we need them aligned with Scotland.

Yup - and taking their holiday spending money with them.

Yes back to Engerland..

Are you speaking for all the people in the north of England in that statement.. or is the 20% the Northern English along with Scotland..

BTW Gerry and Kenny, comments like that really don't help and are quite offensive

:p:p:p

Some towns on the edge of where the time change is in the USA chose to go with the neighbour State if it suits them better, especially where people live in one and work in the next. So maybe those like you right up there might go on Scots time. We on the other hand live much closer to France than to Scotland, or in fact anywhere north of the M4 corridor.
