Can anyone help please. I have original Holman and Pye printed drawings stamped 21st September 1976 with handwritten notes but they are hopelessly faded. I'm hoping that someone has scanned copies. My rigging drawing is pretty OK but the hull and fittings drawing is barely visible.

Thinking some more, the UFO 31 was moulded by Colvic, but they were taken over in 2002 and some parts again in 2008. I cannot find if they are still in business for sail boats. Some UFO 31's were completed by Oyster, so you could try Landamores of Wroxham as they fitted out for Oyster ot Foxes in Ipswich as they were part of the Oyster group of companies. I doubt the current Oyster will have anything that old.

Just out of interest why do you need a copy of the plans?

Thanks again. I have been on to Landamores before. They built my boat and told me it is one of the Oyster boats. I got new old seacocks from them. They were very helpful and sent me a booklet on the history. I'll give them a call. I want to create a 3d digital model so that I can print a hull model. Well... I want my son to do the digital modelling for me!

The alternative is to create a marking on one side of the hull for photographing. Black tape or similar, applied vertically and horizontally every foot (30cm), then photograph from dead ahead and dead astern to show the sectional shape is all you will need. Using linear lasers help getting it accuarte.

I bought sails and rigging plan from Holman and Pye a few years ago. Copyright stamped by David Cooper.
He retired some while ago but he may still be active in the East Coast scene. Might be worth asking at West Mersea Yacht Club.
You are welcome to a copy of my rigging plan if it doesn't cause copyright problems.

Thanks for the offer. I will try Mr Cooper first and come back if I need to. Do you have the hull drawings? Thats what Im after really

Google low cost 3d scanning, lots of service providers who will rock up, scan your boat and hand over a file for a fee. Also there are low cost scanners available for under £100.

As you want to print a model hull, this type of service maybe easy and less time consuming. Do let us know how you get on.
