Check out the PBO forum there is a thread about this class of boat. Hopefully that might be some help!

Hi Giffy, I have only had my UFO 27 for a year and discovered two things. 1) They are definitely not floating caravans, and 2) they go like sh*t off a shovel. They are aimed at the racer who needs to live aboard occasionally. Having said that, they are usually well fitted out, in a practical manner. Some pure cruisers were produced and, as they are very beamy, afford quite a lot of room if planned right.

Problems - the keel is bolt-on, so have the keelbolts checked, some of the larger inboards were restricted in prop shaft length due to engine position, very few have roller reefing, (not racy you see). Other than that, unless the vessal has been mishandled they should be o/k. They are a good solid boat that is not prone to osmosis, even if left in the water. My problem is that just after I bought her last March, my Consultancy took off, I have only been able to get out a couple of dozen times last and about ten so far this year. If you need any further info (or want to buy mine) please contact me.

Try contacting Oyster Marine. I'm not entirely sure but the UFO's may have been the forerunner of the Oysters.
