Two questions about the Ore / Alde

1. How soon can I enter before HW to take advantage of the flood to Aldeburgh? ( Our draft is 1.8 meters)

2. Where best to anchor and then leave the tender (we fancy trying the Lighthouse for a meal)?

The tide turns an hour later at Aldeburgh than at the entrance so you can be as a late as HW minus one hour and still have the tide with you.

There are visitors moorings by the Martello Tower which are generally free of charge for a short visit.
Otherwise you can anchor in that area.
Leave dinghy at Yacht Club, drag it up the slip and try not to cause an obstruction.
You will be welcome to use club as a visitor.
Check out the new Riverview bar extension, very relaxing.
There are steps up to sea wall, behind clubhouse, a better walk into town than the dusty road.
You no doubt have booked Lighthouse well in advance?
If you don't know the pubs try the White Hart in the High Street next to fish n chip shop.
Excellent ales and a Pizzeria out the back, very popular.
