On two occassions this SummerI had to approach the shore through thick fog with a strong cross-tide and rocks on either side. Each time I relied upon GPS to eliminate cross track error. On the second occassion, as my nerves were gradually getting back to normal, and the fog was clearing to show that yet again the little box ot tricks had me anchored within feet of where I wanted to be, I wholeheartedly blessed the US for setting up the GPS system. This got me thinking and I set myself the task of making the complete and definitive list of absolutely ALL the wonderful things that the Americans have given to the world over the years. And here it is:- Rock n' Roll; GPS; .... errr...... that seems to be it.
