Ah, what courtesy Fireball has. If only I had called him anything as polite as a pillock!
Next time I'll get his name and launch the full, terrible wrath of Scuttlebutt at him!
In fairness to my neighbours at Port Solent, I have to say that the offending vessel was a gorgeous long-overhangs classic yacht, not a S*****l. Just goes to show that it's not what you have that matters, but what you do with it.

I was in mid-channel, starboard reach. Another boat altered course so it was on a port reach on a collision course. He wasn't going to do anything so I eventually altered course. As we passed he waved an admonishing finger saying "you were stand-on"! No other boats for miles - where do these people learn to sail??

I was on board with my wife, privately I called the pillock all sorts of names ... none of which are repeatable here ... anyway, if I did actually make an official complaint it wouldn't look good if I'd actually hurled abuse at the swine ....
