Twister, an ideal Jester Challenge boat?

I've had an opportunity to purchase a 27footer for what I think is an excellent price and she seems pretty much ready to go...(still thinking of junk rigging her :))

Our Halcyon 27 was totally rebuild by the previous owners for an Atlantic cruise, US, down east coast, Carrabian, Azors, Gib, Med, Biscay home.
It was only during the Atlantic crossing that they found the other areas that need the modification, resulting in a number of mods in the US.

So should people be looking at boats that have been there and back, rather than what looks good on paper ?

Yep, I was given the impression that the owner was with her (the nova) there and back a few times etc...unfortunately turns out that this was more of a used car sale ad than anything else...travelled quite far and got dissapointed as was really looking forward (trusting that one sailor would not bs another)...so now looking at a dufour arpege mk2...though bit concerned about the fin and skeg setup (as my old school of thought was always a long keel for such a trip)...
