Twin Disc MG 507 oil leak

Hi,

I have Volvo Penta TAMD73-EDC machines with Twin disc MG-507 gear. BB gear gets rid of oil out through the vent plug. I have had the boat for under a year and I was told that there was a small leak on the gear when I bought it. After I changed the oil on the gear, (1,72 gallons/6,51 liters) the leakage has increased and I see oil leaking out from the vent plug ( approx 2 liters after 6 hours use)

SB engine does not leak any oil

Anyone know what the problem might be?

Unfortunately I never measured the volume I took out. I filled up with 6.51 liters, ran the engine / gear warm and refilled up to max, as the user manual say.

Its one or the other .

Multi grade oils froth up .Should be a straight either 30 W or 40 W depending on local climate .
Normally when I do mine we are looking at around only 4 L to top up exactly what we extract .
Also remember dip stick is for warm + tickover fwiw .Iirc cold under reads ?

Thanks ? I filled with SAE 30 oil. May try to drain some oil then.
