TVR !

must admit I was quite happy to have been travelling back from the TVR by car yesterday.

Anyone else catch the hailstorm?

Howabout "Stocking Tops"?
We went through Hurley with the Queen of C and we had not realised the lockie was on lunch. ST came along and mumbled that he was not going to open the gates for us...

What a thoroughly bl00dy nice bloke!

.....still waiting for the scores guys....

Unfortunately there were some real a**holes out on the river yesterday. I was following Dandy Regent along Cliveden Reach when we were both overtaken by a large Sealine that was almost planing.

When said worthy had to wait for Boulters Lock he started berating everyone in sight for holding him up and apparently phoned the Lock-keeper to find out why he was being delayed!

Hearty congratulations to Alex from Manxman who competed in terrible conditions. He won the Cadet shield. Rebellion sends his congratulations and wants to remind Alex to keep it well polished!

Special thanks to the caterers for looking after everyone so well, and also for not running out of Rebellion (beer) this year.

And a big vote of thanks to the organising committee for working so hard to put the rally on.

and a big thankyou for the tips on best iPhone apps to download from you and NR, I consider myself truly educated now!
(Do you think NR has deleted Grindr yet?)

What part of: didn't you understand?

Check your emails

Not aimed at you but the chairman who I asked on the night and ignored me point blank.......

Now received thankyou.

After performing in the pi$$ing rain, my 15year old was impatient and now disappointed.

Next year, we will turn an engine off...

Next year, we will turn an engine off...

I am still trying to find out how the 10 point bonus for single engine was awarded in the scoring - and whether I received it or not, as I have twin exhausts which leads many to think I have twin engines.

Don't know why Alex should feel disappointed - he came away with silverware which is more than I did !

(Oh, and it rained on me as well - well, not so much me as I was under cover, but my excellent crew certainly got rather wet :D )

So remind me again, what does PHYC stand for? (its not P*** H**ds Yacht Club is it?)

If it does then I can leave the sign on "Silver Dragon's" stern.

However, I understand it stands for Penton Hook Yacht Club. The former owner was their Commodore at one time as I understand it.

An interesting, and bittersweet rally really.

Relatively awful weather, Goose poop everywhere, and the usual overpriced Wine, particularly noticeable when you drink as much as me...

Yet, for all that, the usual incredible friendliness from every single attendee regardless of their Club, the brilliant team efforts required to turn a Tent into a welcoming venue, and an impressive Armada of vessels moored up outside like a fleet of shiny White Swans!

Shame we developed an engine problem on the way home, but luckily the little Nanni wing engine coped well, and we made good time apart from Boulters lock and the now legendary queue!

Parts on order, and hopefully ready for the Bray Boat handling.

Great to see you all there. Well done to the crews of Manxman and Legacy, who beat us in the first test, it was just as well we performed so well in the second two! It was a close call to be honest, and I had actually lost interest in the prizes, not thinking for one second that we might actually win something!

I'm still in a state of disbelief in fact...

"modesty forbids etc "

So let me get this right you actually get prizes for ...........

A,finding the river bank and banging in a tent peg without hurting yourself.

B,Manfully fighting to maintain control while the dangerous and turbulent torrent of the Thames tries to tear the wheel from your very hands(this to be done for 30 secs without calling for help on your mobile phone from a lockie.

C,collecting fenders out of the river !

If I had by boat round there, would need a second one just for somewhere to keep all my awards.:):):)

Always assuming that you managed to arrive without mishap? Tell me, did you have to declare prior incidents when completing your application to join a certain establishment ?

Anyways, you miss the point entirely. It's not about just being able to do things but being able to do them just a little bit better than the rest. Unfortunately the TVR scoring system seems to need a bit of an overhaul but thats about as likely as the Lib Dems managing to get PR introduced in time for tomorrow.

As a first time entrant - and probably the grand-daddy skipper to boot - with just one past commodore in my crew (unlike NR with one past commode and a Dogsbody) and your mate (and mine now!) valiantly nursing my bow lines alongside his hangover. I was pretty proud of Legacy on Sunday morning. We beat both NR and WS in the first test and beat WS in the third. Unfortunately my **** position holding let us down in the second, and the seamlessly polished performance of my crew meant I probably didn't shout at them enough in the third (seems you get more points if you bully the crew a bit !) but WS only just pipped us to the second place overall.

No sour grapes (but I would like to know if I got my extra points for single engine ! ) - in fact, it was worth it for the looks on a few faces when they heard I was actually going to 'have a go' !

Best result overall ? A 1 - 2 - 3 for the Forum as well as being up there with John, Alex and Andy to collect the Best Club Trophy :D (and I've got nothing to look after and polish, either !)

Oh - and watch this space for a picture of the moment Apollo met AngelaQ !!!!!!

Hate to correct someone as esteemed as you but No Regrets didn't have any Commodores on board for the competition, so you were one up on him in that respect...He did have youth on his side though!

Can't wait! Although Angela did seem quite calm and relaxed when I met her later in the day, so I can only guess Apollo was on best behaviour when they met?

If anyone has a copy of the final scores / positions, I'm always keen to have a look and see where we went wrong.

so I can only guess Apollo was on best behaviour when they met?.

She did ask me for any issues I have with the River at the moment and I had to give her smelling salts when I said "None Actually"

Anyone who is familiar with recent events in the Apollo household will know why....
