We find the same problem in marinas generally, ghosting caused by reflected signals from masts. In such places we use a small loft aerial about £8 from B&Q which works pefectly.

We got a status 315 aerial & have much-improved but still ghosty analogue tv (nearby masts/banks at low tide, I presume).

Freeview excellent at all but low springs.

Am puzzled that the the still & west on the other side + gosport marina show as "sorry, no coverage" on freeview's site, yet 150 Forton road (trevor pope motorcycles, plug, plug !) gives a firm "yes". Think I'd borrow a freeview box + decent aerial & try it.

Search for my recent post on freeview- we got acceptable performance with a 6' length of wire.

Also some freeview boxes better in marginal signal areas than others.... so don't necessarily buy the cheapest (although higher price doesn't mean better low-signal results)

some freeview boxes will only output freeview via scart; if you haven't got a scarted tv, buy one with a modulator (only £10 more)

I don't think there is a solution other than getting cable installed on the pontoon. That big long black thing across the water (submarine at the museum) and if I remember correctly a tall metal clad building lie in the path to the transmitter and then you have the blocks of flats behind. Too many huge reflectors I'm afraid.
