TV bracket

I'm looking for a bracket that will allow our TV to be mounted on the saloon wall and be swiveled into a viewing position. Any recommendations?

Hi,

It can be useful to be able to unclip the TV easily so I chose a swivel mount from Vogel TV mounts (eg https://www.vogels.com/en-gb/c/tv-b...brackets/wall-1025-swivel-tv-wall-mount-black.) They are available from Turnstone AV Ltd., 7 Anton Business Park, Andover, Hampshire. Tel 0330 2020 980

I was thinking that it would be good to be able to lock it in position.does either of these do that?

I installed a pole from the edge of the chart table to the headlining. Then used a bracket that mounted on the pole. Will add more details later.

I'm not sure if Vogel make a lockable swivel mount. Have a look at their catalogue or send them an email for help. Certainly mine does not, and anyway I prefer to remove and stow the TV before going to sea. The alternative would be a vesa mount bolted directly to a bulkhead.

Good idea, I searched for long time before I found one that would. Alternative is to arrange some form of clip to hold the screen in the "retracted" / sailing position but even than you need some way of tightening the hinges as those damn mobos cause such a wake in anchorages that the screen swings around

Be wary of TV brackets that become fatigued due to (engine) vibration, and suddenly snap. Fortunately my nice little LCD monitor fell only a foot or so, onto the saloon sofa, and was undamaged. The bracket appeared quite sturdy, showed no signs of weakening, and lasted 2 years until failure.

I bought this one from Amazon USA and it is excellent, the Tv attachment allows it to be lifted off (with it's rear bracket still attached) for safe stowage if rough weather is expected, but normally it sits very tamely folded back against the main bulkhead with a simple shockcord as extra security between two eyes one above, one below. the hinges are adjustable for friction and normally tight enough for it to stay put where set. I did use through bolts for the mount rather than simple screws. Our TV is a 17inch one with built in DVD player.
