TV Antenna advice

We had the mast taken down recently for an inspection, and as expected, the work list gets longer by the day.
The tv antenna is fitted at the masthead, and is a Glomex 9125. It may or may not be working, as the computer says 'hardware disconnected' - (before I dismounted it ). It is also in poor condition so I am probably going to change it. Like for like is my first inclination but if anybody has any suggestions regarding an alternative model/type based on personal experience I would appreciate your input.

Note that the tv antenna is connecterd to a glomex amplifier, then to a Hauppauge DEC2000-t then to the onboard built in computer. We view tv stations on a separate TFT screen, which also serves as the computer screen. Might seem over complicated but the set up was inherited.

I have a Glomex on my Azimut. It is useless. I had a Status aerial on my previous Sunline and it was fantastic.

The computer can't detect whether the tv receiver has an aerial connected or not. If it's saying "hardware disconnected" then there's a problem with the Haupage box, not the Glomex.

(That's not to say it isn't worth replacing the aerial while you have the chance.)

Sitting in the cockpit, back in the summer, watching the world go by (coz I don't have a telly aboard) I noticed that the Glomex-style frisbee shaped aerials provide a welcome perch for our avian friends.

This thread is a few weeks old but 7 years ago I fitted a Glomes aerial to the top of the mast.
A week a go I bought a new television and used the aerial for the first time ever.
Initially I could not get anything to tune in so I remade the aerial plug connection at the TV end. Once I did so I was able to tune in all the Freeview channels including FreeviewHD. I have not used the amp that comes with the Glomex. That is still in the loft somewhere.
So a thumbs up for the Glomex. I should add I used a decent quality cable down the mast when I initially installed it.
