I'm looking to get a small 22" Samsung TV, LT22D390EW/EN, which has a 14v small round plug on the end of its mains power adapter. I suspect that this is the same plug on a lot of small Samsung TVs so has anyone got or know of a 12v to 14v adapter with the Samsung round plug on the output end?

Running your TV directly of 12v does have some slight risk, but is worth considering if you willing to take a chance. Boosting voltage is difficult to do efficiently. Even if you can find a suutable 12 to 14v converter it is not likely to be more effecient or cheaper than small inverter. Directly from your boats 12v will use less power.

If you look on eBay for laptop car charger, you'll find lots of them come with a selection of interchangeable plugs. It's likely that one will fit your TV. A typical 80/90W charger would have a 14v output setting (check the description) and should have plenty of power to run the TV.

I've got this TV. Couldnt find a 12v to 14v adapter, and the plug is quite rare.

I eventually found a 12v to 12V or 15v adapter with a plug that works. I've been running it for about a year on the 12V to 12V setting and all seems well.

I'll see if I can find the eBay link....

BTW it's a great TV... worth the effort!

Many thanks for all the info. I did look at the Finlux but I prefer not to have an integral DVD. The Avtex, whilst getting great reviews, is way more than I would care to pay for a TV (£400 is more than I've spent on the home TV) for the boat.

Thanks for the eBay link and info on running on 12v so will go with that option.

This place is better than any review site!
