Any suggested areas we should be looking at?
Talking to Nautilus, Top Yacht and Setsail at the mo after using them all before and happy with what I got.

Whatever you do, don't go in August, too hot, too crowded and too full of arrogant Italians.

I would highly recommend it though - try September, less crowded, cooler evenings....I'd be off like a shot if I could!

I did my first charter our of Athens last August on a Dufor 385 through bareboatsailingholidays - Had an excellent time, getting down as far as Spétsai.

This year I've booked another week through setsail, this time out of laveron. With the movements in the exchange rates I'm paying 2/3rds of what I paid last year for an '09 boat.

Oh dear, poor me I'm off to the Ionian for the last couple of days of July and two weeks of August.

I shall remember fondly all the warnings while sitting aboard the boat!

Not a problem,

You will soon get an idea of where the flots are going, chat to the lead crews & go the other way.

Lots of places to anchor off & dingy in

If you want to park up, cut short the sailing & get in by 2pm latest, tidy up, shower, then drinks on deck while you watch the mayhem, usually the italians.

Forget the colregs, unless it is a real ship, everyman for himself.

I found it like being on the M25 at rush hour, having sailed in the Canaries where you see maybe 10 yachts max in a day, but, you soon get used to it.

Been twice or is it three times with SailIonian out of Levkas.

A few words of greek, please, thank you etc will go a long way.

The Dodecanese are starting to look like a good balance of exciting sailing, pricing, flights times and such.

Only thing is I am not finding so much 'Cruising' info and spots to stop as I have previously found for Turkey.
