It's been confirmed that you can't not go to Tunisia from any part of Italy that included Sardinia and Sicily .
It been suggested by the marina in Monastir that if you did arrive you MAY be able to anchor our but you can't come on land for a min of two weeks and then after you had a Heath check .

If this carries on is crusier may have a problem if other countries take the same view .

Not sure that's good advise , as we in one of the biggest liveaboard marinas in southern Sicily and each day that goes by people are flying black from all over Europe .
You just need one case in any marina and no body be going any where for the foreseeable weeks .

On the TV yesterday the advice was if you were 2 metres from another person the risks were low.
Putting a marina into isolation doesn't seem a necessary response.
Its quite obvious that flying is spreading the virus due to the recirculated air and everyone being packed in on aircraft . A good plan would be stop all flights worldwide for a while ... but it will not happen.

The stupid thing is , the flu kills and infect many hundreds of thousand more people then this Virus has and we don't see airports and ports making a deal about the common flu .
Plus why can't the same procedures used at airport used in port.

Lastest news from a Italian boat that arrived in Tunisia ..

Dear friends, we tell you both adventures and misfortunes! We arrived in Monastir (Tunisia) having an appointment with a local shipyard to carry out work on our boat and prepare it for the summer season but on our arrival things did not go according to schedule. After mooring the port staff asked us to stay on board and wait for the authorities so that after a few hours, a delegation of more people came to the pier, staying at a distance of 10 meters from us, asking us to go back to the sea. and return to Italy or, as the only alternative, to submit to a quarantine in a facility indicated by them at our expense and to always carry out the disinfestation of the boat at our expense!
It was useless to point out that during the many hours of crossing with rough seas we encountered board failures that do not allow us to get back into the sea safely.

This happened Sunday morning and from that moment on there has never been the possibility of going ashore and even more seriously, denied electricity and water. Denial that, while taking into account the widespread panic, nothing to do with the possibility of a hypothetical count. On the other hand we have been asked several times to leave the port and put us out at anchor despite the bad weather.

Fortunately, Italians present in the port are supplying us with food and internet connection thanks to which we are able to communicate.

We are waiting for the embassy and the Italian authorities contacted to resolve the matter as soon as possible, a matter that can be resolved by subjecting us to a simple medical check that certifies our good health.

Otherwise we will sail to Lampedusa as soon as the sea allows it!
