Forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this...but does anyone know when the tuna fishing season starts in the Med (Bay of Roses area) I have a 30' motor cruiser out there and am keen to do some game fishing there.

Cheers Mike

Not sure about the Med but in Lanzarote, Canaries they reckon september october to be the best, we had a week in Lanzarote fishing every day last october and caught small tuna to 10 lbs, every day in good numbers using a free lined live bait, but dead baits were also taken. There is a web site somewhere, try tuna, and see what turns up.

I have caught Tuna in Gran Canaria in February, trolling a lure behind the hire dinghys at Puerto Rico. I think the season runs from August to March, Thats when all the sardine are in.

Re: Don\'t cast - till May is out.

Constant GUIGO (French champion), based in Antibes, runs tuna fishing days from "beginning of June to October".
