I'm boatless again :-( I would like to get another tug so far cos I'm a tight git and wont spend more than 10k the only suitable thing which has the right attributes re size and so on is in Gib. It would cost £1200 to £1500 of fuel to get it back to blighty !!!!!!.

So if any one see's some old thing that's cheap and big prap's needing tlc
( must be over 50ft ) let me know cos I'm getting the withdrawal symptoms already.
I might even go for the right type of steel trawler .

Cheers and have a great xmas

Yes I'm sure I'm sure. There are plenty of boats about but it's picking the most suitable one.
It's a buyers market and there's bound to be some who would rather have cash in their bin than the responsibility of a some thing sat there both costing and losing.
That tug in Gib you may well have seen it I've no doughts in that particular case of covering the distance, Cummings are very very good engines a good service and check over and it would cover the distance no sweat.
I saw a tug a few weeks ago hull full of rot and concrete nicely covered over with new floor boards !!!! the fella swore blind it was an excellent hull, ho hum

Good question, well presented, what did he do with Danbrit? Not something you can hide easily behind the garden shed, unless v big shed....

<hr width=100% size=1>Sod the Healey - I think I'll buy an E-Type.

Thanks for that, but so far they have set their prices well above what I'd call common sense also there's the dreaded vat on top. Mind you the harbour launches were close but had a lay out which is would restrict movement at sea, and would mean lots of work to move the wheel house.

Cheers
Mick
