I have to renew the rubber tube between my stuffing box and the hull fitting and I am finding a great deal of difficulty locating the right product (it is 1 1/2 inch ID). Some say use exhaust hose but others say that is reinforced with steel wire and not resistant to grease. ASAP does not stock it. Can anyone help me with a supplier? Any hints gratefully received. The infuriating thing is that I only need about 3 inches of the stuff!

Try Lancing marine they will know what to use and where to get it, if they don't have any.

Find some one who makes up high pressure hydraulic hose. This is steel wire reinforced and is also proof against oil. They should have single and ro double wire reinforced depending on the pressure rating.

Try Seals+Direct in New Milton 0845 226 3345. Very helpful and quick supply. I changed mine last year and they supplied the heavy duty clamps to go with it at a good price.

No connection and all that.

Cheers

Success!

Thank you Piddy. In case anyone needs the same, Seals Direct were very helpful and sell the tube by the inch. Mine (1 1/2 in ID) costs a bit over £4 per inch and they have to order it so there is a slight delay in delivery.
