Hi All,

This is a long shot.

In short I found an Albin Vega home/web page about a month ago that I really liked and booked-marked it for further reference. Or so I thought. Now I can't find it.

All I can remember is that it's a guy and girl probably in their thirties and Scandinavian. They had excellent pics of their sailing trips and the mods they did to their Vega. One was a frame on the coach roof and arching over the cockpit cover to provide support when going forward. I want to see about one of these. Also new windows?

It's not 'Soulmates' or 'K.J. Antaba'. I also seem to remember I linked to it from an American Vega page and the Vegas serial number was below 1000 (I think).

Sorry for being so vague but it's driving me mad and I want to see the mod again!

Can anyone shine any light on this please?

Regards
Harry

Glad to be of help Harry. I've admired the vega for quite some time now and looked at plenty of websites. They seem like fine vessels to me. Something for the future perhaps.

Yep they are nice boats, but I would say that!
With about 3500 of them they do, I think, 'punch above their weight' in terms of where they turn up in the world, and the types of trips they do. And their owners do seem to get quite attached to them.

A while ago I found a site showing how someone built an outboard well into the lazarette of their Vega- like the OP, I cannot find this again- anybody got any ideas?

Steve Birch (who posts on here) is the man for anything Albin Vega. He runs the Vega club, and I have found him to be most helpful in anything to do with the Vega, from advice to spares etc, good service.

Don't know if you meant this one - but this Dutch guy did exactly that, on a sailing trip to the Cape Horn area (scroll down the page): http://www.syrebellion.com/info-boot.htm
