I have a problem with the water heater on my Viking 24.
The system was unused and drained through the Winter. On re-commisioning this year there is a fault. Story so far _

There is water in the tank and running through the hot water taps well, so I presume no airlock. All other gas appliances are working well and run from the same point of origin so (I presume) gas is present.

When I turn the control switch on the green light illuminates and I can hear a clicking from the tank as it tries to ignite. After 30-40 seconds there is a loud click and the red light comes on on the control switch. I have tried this 30 times or so as I have read that an airlock in the gas supply can be cleared in this way but still no joy.

When I remove the plastic cover all that is visible is the top of the tank - nothing to fiddle with !!

Oh and the exhaust pipe is not covered.

Thanks for reading so far - has anyone any ideas ??

Possible faults would suggest lack of gas.

Your regulator is quite possibly borked, they get sludged up apparently, quite common, so try another.

Mine did a similar thing, yet wasn't very old!

Otherwise, you might need to remove the outer cover and clean the jet out.

Assuming the clicking device IS actually producing a spark that is....

Just to give a little closure I finally resolved this yesterday.
It seems the main issue was that Viking had installed the drain for the heater tank locker about an inch above the floor. A build up of water sloshing about the floor had made the cardboard-like casing around the control box rather damp. A thorough mopping followed by keen use of a hair dryer has restored normal service.
Moral - keep the area bone dry !
