My YM theory instructor asked for suggestions that included leeway. One bright spark came up with TransVestites Make Legally Dubious Companions.

Not sure if that's more politically correct, tho.....

That's quite good for an exam, where you are told how much leeway to allow for. I'm not sure about its practical use, though.

Usually the biggest problem is to know how much leeway to allow. It will vary with point of sail, with sea state, with boat speed, with angle of heel, etc. If I'm navigating, then I usually give a course not allowing for leeway, wait for the helmsman to settle on that course, then try to estimate leeway. Once I've done that, I ask the helmsman to harden up by the necessary amount. That means that leeway goes on after the compass course has been calculated. Maybe we need
True-Variation-Magnetic-Deviation-Compass-Leeway-Steer?
