So true and often very apparant. Noted only by my observation of others, however, so I stand to be corrected if there is another mechanism involved such as Peeway or CMG (Crap Made Good).

True wind emits from the female and corrodes nasal passages. Apparent wind emits from the skipper and is very noisy and blustery but is soon over and less threatening to the nasal passages.
Of course all wind should be evaluated by the direction from which it comes.

i feel that your subject matter could be explored by viewing the negative of your suppository in much greater detail, eg is an electrically assisted disposal mechanism apparent and, indeed, makes far more mess

I have seen an electricaly driven disposal mechanism wielded by a man who sliced his finger off when it slipped through the cage which isolated the turbo assist blades.
It is therefore not a method I would recommend.

By the way he fainted before the severed finger hit the floor it is still a matter of debate in our circles whether it was the wind or blood that caused the faint.
