Assuming that the main bits of a Volvo FL6 (equiv.TAMD 63P) are the same, Is there such a thing as a Truck Scrapyard, where I could go and pull bits off old engines, or is this not a good idea?

Commercial Motor has adverts for Companies breaking stuff but in fact there are not that many FL6's around being broken as in a truck the engines are fantastically reliable and 10 year old Volvo's will still make good money.
I will ask the question when I next see our fleet engineer as he may know of places.

You'll have to do a bit of phoning around but do a search on Yellow Pages for CAR & COMMERCIAL VEHICLE DISMANTLERS in WEST SUSSEX, SOUTH EAST ENGLAND and find out which ones specialise in trucks.
