Troutbridge

Made it!

Yep, finally made it to Ozworld. It was an 'interesting' trip from Fiji to Brisbane, gruesome details on the blog. Basically I had a too close encounter with a tropical storm on the Fiji to New Cal leg then b***er-all wind from Noumea to Brisbane.
Contrary to their reputation and rumour, the Aussie officials couldn't have been pleasanter. Customs filled out half the forms for me and the boat inspection was delayed until normal working hours, so no overtime fees. For those put off sailing to Oz by 'the yottie rumour mill', the Quarantine guys told me that their charter calls for them to inspect a boat within 16 hours of arrival. If you arrive anytime Sunday through to Thurs eve they are happy to delay the inspection so you can avoid overtime, just let customs know when you call them.

I'm now anchored off the Botanical gardens, very pleasant it is too. Unfortunately a lot of the work that was done in Fiji has proven to be, well lets say not quite as good as I might have hoped so at some point I'll have to haul Trouters out again! In the meantime I'm hard at work on my third book which should be out on Amazon in a couple of weeks. For those who enjoy like the thought of a humerous detective story set in deepest 'Cornishire' go to Amazon and search on Peter N Bernfeld. You'll hopefully have a laugh and you'll be helping Trouters get better again! Sorry for the plug and thanks to everybody who follows the blog and has sent messages of support over the last 18 months. Much appreciated, I assure you.

Just had a walk through Botanic Gardens and spotted Troutbridge.
She looks in good fettle and in a snug anchorage. Few obvious signs of yor recent misfortunes. I'm envious.
