Trotman barge at Sunbury lock

Despite the implications to the contrary, may I assure the sceptical and cynical that the BSS inspector who examined the Trotman Barges and issued the certificates has a very high degree of integrity and did not give Trotman an easy time

it would have made sense if the inspector was dodgy. If(as you say)he isn't, then it makes the scheme look like an inconvenient and pointless waste of time and money..

The BSS is not the stick to beat Trotman with. For a vessel without any engine, fuel tanks, fuel system, battery bank, charging systems or other electrical installations most of the BSS is not applicable. Therefore he only has to have an integral gas system, a porta pottiy and three fire extinguishers.

It always has been. All it ever achieved was in the first year sending 20% of boats to the coast.

Now you see him, now you don't.
Trotters was at the Anglers on Tues eve - Wed afternoon, gone.
Anyone spotted his latest resting place?
Interestingly I've never seen the Walton moorings completely devoid of shipping before.

Just below Hampton Court last night when I ran past, should be interesting for when the flower show kicks off...

[tongue in cheek mode on] quite high demand for accommodation in Henley next month? [tongue in cheek mode off] :encouragement:
What an excellent idea - must send an enquiry to SRB and HRR and ask where moored....

IIRC there's a very pleasant mooring just below Phyllis Court and usually occupied by a very large tea tent which might be free??????

Steve has just purchased an ex Thames Police boat (admittedly its one of the smaller ones built by Souters - not one of the proper Toughs or Watercraft built ones) which will be in Henley this weekend. Combined with his ex Thames Water amd British Waterways Robert Ives 29 patrol boats this should be enough of a "show of force" to keep the slum boats away from Henley.
And don't forget his dogs. You don't want to mess with them. They might nip your heels.

I will say no more.

I think it's time that Henley did her bit and took her share of scum:D. We're overloaded down this end and no one's doing anything about it. Spotted this weekend, between a Teddington and Molesey:
3 large slumboats, plus a dozen liveaboards who've taken over the 24hr moorings.
At least 6 unlicensed cruisers, one proudly displaying a 14 licence.
3 speeding boats, 1 rib, 2 speedboats behaving like utter £&@?!
Number of EA boats spotted = nil.:nonchalance:

One now outside John Lewis, one on Barge Walk, one on Kingston side near Minima SC
They seem to be gradually creeping downstream again.

I've just seen the River Inspector go past him, no action taken, the RI appeared to be there for the benefit of the rowers and their regatta. There were a number of Trotmans tenants enjoying the sunshine, all young and all looking like they could to with a good wash.
