Tropical Storm GRACE - 600kms NE Azores

On occasion these miniature storms form a revolving dumbell with another area of low pressure nearby. When these two are combined the effect is many times what would be expected.:eek:

The 'Fujiwhara effect', I believe....

Very interesting while it lasted. Grace isn't a record breaking storm or anything like that, but to see a storm 'eye' and characteristics so close to Ireland is a very rare event.

I see the UK met office is forecasting heavy rain for the south coast.
 
Well, in this case it was 'yours truly' who was the stoopid munchkin. I'm afraid I misread and grossly misunderstood the post, so an unreserved apology is due.

I've repositioned the sign back above my 'puter which says 'Remember to engage brain before operating mouth'.
