Should be blocked automatically I say! Was he trying to get us to burn our Seagulls again maybe, or was he trying to promote that biomuck which passes for diesel fuel oil nowadays?:D

seems unlikely to me too

In a pic file?

Seems an unlikely host....

the pics would have passed avg both onto and off my computer and onto the server - which also has a virus protection programme runninng on it

I am sure that it would have been picked up by other people who have looked at the gallery

so if you have any more details I would be most grateful

I was invaded by Conduit a couple of weeks ago when I tried to download a video clip from the BBC website (can't remember what it was, but don't remember any sense of regret at not seeing it). Conduit took over my browser and appointed itself in charge of Windows. Took me a lot of hassle to get rid of it.

I have dumped MS Essentials & installed Avast again

this from Joe Moore

Joe Moore is myn webmaster

he is an Isle of Wight sailor

and runs several big budget but dull websites

I sent himthe links to the snaps I posted

this is what he says

"Just been through those threads - can't see anything suspect. Perhaps a false alarm or confusion. If it was dodgy everyone would be complaining of it."

I am not saying that you are wrong about an infection being detected

but as we used to say at the BBC

"it was alright when it left me"

I wonder if it got onto your system somewhere else

it would be good to know

Dylan

Dropped an email over to the hosting chaps earlier giving them a heads up on it and will see what they say. I expect it's a false alarm as an image file is an unlikely culprit and it's hard to see how it would have become infected.

Anyway, will report back if there's anything worth reporting. If the OP has any logs from his antivirus software showing the event it'd be good if he could mail them to Dylan.
