Trojan batteries

And a top tip if you do order Trojans from Tayna, don't expect them to be left in your porch (they arrive on a pallet) and they don't deliver if you have a gravel drive!!!!!;)

Other tip if ordering several batteries:

I was ordering 5 batteries and noticed that the delivery charge was per battery and didn't vary with size of order. I know that some firms give a discount code to encourage repeat orders. So I only ordered the cheapest battery and waited for confirmation. Sure enough, I got an email confirming the order and it had the offer of a discount on my next order. I went back to their site and ordered the remaining 4xT105s about an hour after the first order and got a small discount. Overall postage was exactly the same as placing a single order.

I don't know if they still do this but it is worth trying on the off-chance. Better yet, might be worth calling to haggle a bit as I now know that they do have some extra discounts.

Mine came in individual card board cartons well padded with the batteries sealed in vacuum bags. I suppose larger quantities come on a pallet but Tayna use carriers if not local.

Perhaps they stopped offering it. I checked my notes for 2012 and discovered that they'd sent an email with a link to Facebook and clicking "Like" gave a discount code. It didn't amount to much but worth having.

The tactic I mentioned does work sometimes and costs nothing to try if the items aren't scarce and delivery is quoted per item. I bought some a load of bathroom stuff recently and just bought a tap. I had an email back with 5% discount code to use for the remainder of my order (approx. £2,000).

As an aside, it actually worked out better than that as I'd noted some errors in the first order and checked their website code. I could see that I'd downloaded details for at least 40 other customers. I let the company know about the error and gave them customer addresses, phone numbers + other data you could deduce fairly easily (e.g. one customer had recently married). They replied very quickly and I was contacted by their IT people to help sort it out. They were so chuffed with the detail I supplied that they organised a 15% discount. Most people's idea of reporting bugs is to say "it's broken and I'd almost pointed out the exact location of the error. Breaking the order up would have saved an extra £100 with 5% and ended up saving £300.
