Nice weekend. 3 nights in St Kats with power about £85.00.
Visited the Wellcome Trust museum and the British Library on Sunday and most of the pubs in Fleet St. on Saturday.
Do they have somebody whos job description boils down to
"Chief in charge of throwing bits of old rope in the water Dept" Managed to get off whatever it was off the prop with a bit a agressive reversing.
Next week a bit of ditch crawling and then mebbe just mebbe up to Byrons do...

Jeez, how does the skipper of the Oyster see where he's going.

Nice Princess.

St Kats is a lovely marina - great location.

Any more pics of buoys? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Never too many pics, especially of buoys!! I think St. Kats is just great; where else in London can you stay for that price?!!

Looks like you had a lovely trip Fred, the last pic of you valiantly returning from your foray to exotic climes looks like it may be borderline eggy down the jumper though!
Will try and get some bouy shots on my trip to the pearl of the east...Burnham.

Limehouse - a lot cheaper in fact and a more organised locking procedure with a wider window.

The boat is on his way back up presumably the east coast somewhere. He was the only MoBo part of a flottila of big flash Oyster saily boats on display in St Kats over the weekend. It must have locked out 3 hours after us and still passed before we were into Sea Reach.
We had to leave early as they obviously did not want me and my scuzzy fenders in the same lockout as a few million quids worth of Oysters.

As for the overwhelming demand for for more bouys, alright but just the one....

Or South Dock - and they're open 7 days H24.

Yes they are open as stated but beware passing traffic. Our entry in June 07 was plagued by the highly disturbed water by very fast river buses passing by and stopping and starting at the 'bus stop' immediately outside the gate of South Dock.

entry time is not as large as Limehouse though.

Yes I remember the water taxis when I was moored outside on the pier waiting for the lock to open. Had the boat pitching from side to side, every time they came up to moor

South Dock is also dirt cheap, being owned by the local council. £15 per night with leccy etc all in for a 32 foot boat last New Year. Hadn't booked, and port of refuge after St Kats broke down, again. A fiver or so to river bus into town, probably less by tube or what have you from Surrey Quays.

Have been into Limehouse,Chelsea and St Kats.Prefer St Kats simply because of stuff in the immediate location within walking distance, decent supermarket,The Globe,Tate and some cracking pubs and resturants down Wapping High St.
Not to mention the presence some cracking craft moored in the dock.
Also easy access to underground and hence the whole of London.
Both Chelsea (a tad sterile but with showers to die for)and Limehouse (perfect if you like dining out in resturants with a view of the main road to Essex)are perfectly acceptable if little bit isolated but lack the constant buzz of St Katherines which makes up for the added expence.
Only critical comment is their shower block is really in need of an update, and the showers go from boiling to freezing when somebody flushes the bog and its always when you are halfway through shampooing your bloody hair. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Sorry if post a bit shower heavy.
