Its sort of staggered around a bit and then quietly died.
Not nearly as good as the previous two episodes ,possibly due to lack of "salty "adjectives that boat users tend employ when in their own company perhaps ? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Earlier comments and comparison with Top Gear were on the mark. Nothing to do with boats really, just a vehicle for some middle aged fading stars to get a moment in the glare!
Most sailing trips are more fun than this!

Hmmm one strange bit too they are on route to a ikkle harbour in Cornwall in a round the world capable type yacht ,with the intention on leaving next day for scillies and shock horror...............the forcasts a F8 lets not go to the sillies in this ROUND THE WORLD yacht, lets turn back and get on a bloody great 90 tons ship...... ?

"Speed: 12.5 knots "

You mean .... it does not go fast enough to get a decent wake shot, half the forum will have just lost interest............ /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sorry to correct you BUT, /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

They weren't going to the scilly isles in the round the world yacht. It was taking them to a small harbour called newlyn. Due to the size of yacht and the harbour being on the small size it was too dangerous to enter. Thats why they turned around.

Yes they did say the harbour was a bit too small?? Blimey how long was the yacht, maybe the keel was a bit deep.

I thought they wanted a boat capable of crossing to the scilly isles. Wonder why then they chose the cosy route and not in the yacht?

Don't see why that's a problem. After all, it was John Paul Ghetty who said "own that which appreciates, lease that which depreciates"

Contrast that with Cornwall County Council, who are about to saddle the Cornish taxpayers with the costs of owning the new Scillonian, and I know which side I'd rather be...

Re: a bit heaver than 90 tons

Well sadly I missed the last one, but the previous one when they sat at night eating lobster was very entertaining. I thought it portrayed the whole boating experience very well.

Bloody good effort BBC
Jas.

Re: a bit heaver than 90 tons

Yes I enjoyed the first one, particularly going through Sutton lock as we'd done it for the first time just two days previously. Didn't hit the lock but quickly learnt that tight lines are essential /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif It was only meant to be light hearted entertainment and that's what we got..
Also missed the second part, will catch it on IPlayer.

C.C.C are mere beginners when it comes to getting their pound of flesh.........Nope the biggest money grabbing [--word removed--] [--word removed--] are SouthWest Water, they do not just want a pound of flesh ...Oh no, those [--word removed--] want it boiled on the bone , then charge you for the water it was cooked in.

Re: a bit heaver than 90 tons

"its leased from a bank"

Any idea of the VAT situation if I decide to buy it, export it to Ruritania
via my Mongolian charter company for 13 months and then re import it to Bray Marina on the Thames for local day trips.
Just a few sentences will suffice. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I reckon they bottled out of using the yacht cos it was going to be rough. Mind you film coverage of the yacht trip would have been a lot more interesting than watching a bottle move around a table in a cosy cabin, then seeing then wake up in a cosy bed once they got there.
