Exccellent! That should be fun to sail.
SailboatData.com - CORSAIR 27 Sailboat

Re a section of this forum that discusses Corsairs, I think you have just created it above :)
Go for it!
Can you post some photos of your new vessel please?

The multihulls section of the Boat Design Forum is very popular - if you post over there as well, I am sure that you will get a good response.

Congratulations. I bottled buying a trimaran, and bought something more “sensible” instead.

Taking my wife to view a dragonfly 28 was, however a canny plan, as she declared it “too small, too sporty and too expensive”.

Anything thereafter was roomy, sensible and good value in her eyes :D

Congratulations - you've bought the best boat in the world (other than the F28 I had !)
You'll have enormous amounts of fun :)

I had a Telstar. A bad buy, it was badly build and did not sail very well. I sold it after a year

Disagree, sailed well enough to beat any similar length Monohull. Good Committee boat for Dinghy racing.
I had one for 15 years. Minus points- centreboard broke but replaced easily. side floats always filled with water through poor hatch seals.
But .... Cheap and sailed 25K+ miles, and I managed to live onboard [ with occasional partner] for 18months, sailing around UK, Brittany and down to the med and back.
And I then sold it for 3k more than I paid for it.
Now replaced with larger Catamaran for extra comfort for SWMBO.

.... and why do you think it was cheap?

I have warm feelings towards trimarans and their owners, from a sample of one. We had made loose friends with a Dutchman in a neighbouring Dragonfly and in a following year my wife fell and broke her wrist badly (Smiths #). Our Dutch friend drove us half an hour to hospital and was happy to wait a couple of hours while she was treated. I don’t think that my bottle of wine was really adequate recompense.

Is there a section that discusses Trimarans?

I appear to have acquired a small share in one.
There is a Yahoo group that is excelent (mostly US, but international with many UK and European members). That is the place for Farrier designs. It was set up by Ian, who passed a few years ago.

Yes very sad.
Great guy (kind, happy to give personal email advice) and fantastic innovative yacht designer - his folding system was rock solid, and great rotating mast/rolling boom etc
