Last season my TTs were polished and were badly fouled by the end of the season. This year I have tried priming and A/F. After a few weeks the A/F is starting to disappear.
So whilst I was staring glumly into the water it occurred to me that copper rather than SS would solve the problem.
So why aren't the flat working surfaces of TTs made from copper sheet rather than stainless steel sheet ?

Copper is a more malleable metal than SS, so you would need a much thicker gauge to get the right stiffness. In addition it is a very costly material, so would be much more expensive than SS. I'm not sure you should be a/f ing your trim tabs, unless the a/ is specifically for sterngear.
