Is that our David in the Sunday Times centre "pull out and keep" spread with Dom Jolly?

Very nice pics!

Trainer to the stars (inc me!)

I got a text from a client this evening saying they'd seen the article. It was done about 2 months ago and we didn't know when it was going to appear. I have just popped out and got a copy. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif There is also a web version, with a picture of Dom saluting as he goes past the Jolly Sailor pub.

It was a fun 2 days and Dom Jolly is a smashing bloke. I have to confess though that I hadn't got a clue who he was on the first day until people came up to me in the yard and whispered - "Is that Dom Jolly?"

Never heard of him................

Dave solitaire is really famous though /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Whats the betting he will remember Dave long after Daves forgotten him? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

By the way.......who's Dave? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Having sat on a train from Euston to Manchester full of nerds like that, all losing connections and trying again.....and again.....and again.... I'm not sure I would find that amusing....... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

And as soon as they reconnected they would say....."I'M ON A TRAIN AND MAY GET CUT OFF!!!!" and they did ! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

You're not missing anything. His main claim to fame is that he made a series of so called comedy shows called Trigger Happy which was a bit like Candid Camera but even less funny. My 13 yr old likes him which is a surefire indication that you won't

He also writes a rather un-funny column for the Independent on Sunday. However, this may be sour grapes on my part as he replaced Michael Bywater, a man who (a) can write and (b) shares my worldview.

He also had a running gag involving a massive mobile phone. Googling for a definition of "gag" produces the following: "To cause to choke, retch, or undergo a regurgitative spasm". No further questions, M'Lud................

Just goes to show how much I know! I had no idea what/who the reference to Swiss Toni was all about - until this morning!!! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Then I thought Google and this is what it came up with - Swiss Toni .

A character taken from the Fast Show apparently. 50+ car dealer who makes reference to things in terms of making love to women. It's a term I use to describe how a boat should be berthed. Slow, easy and gentle.

Well I live and learn! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif However not sure if I should be flattered or not - buy hey ho, if you can't laugh at yourself, you have no right to laugh at anybody else! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif My daughter (18) thinks the reference is hilarious /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
