Trident Marine / Warrior 40

Warrior 40

The Warrior 40 is so special. I have had one from new for 16 years and clocked up just over 26,000 miles with no defects except engine replacement and crazed glazing in Lewmar hatches.

I also have had my boat Pelican from new some 16 years ago. It was an interesting experience watching it being built and dealing with Geoff ??? the owner of Trident Marine. Terrific boat and virtually trouble free. Just going through an instrument upgrade. Still thinking about replacing the Lewmar crazed plastic. Perhaps we ought to start an on-line Owners Club. I sail out of Lymington and often see to other Warriors about.

Hi
I realise that this bit seem a bit of topic but I am looking for information about the teak deck on the Warrior 38. I own one of these fantastic boats since 2006 and hope to keep her for a lot longer. The deck is in need of some work and we are actually considering removing the teak cmpletely and possibly applying non skid instead.
Does anyone have experience with this or tell me what to expect upon removal, is there bare fiberglass or a nice gelcoat underneat"
Thx,
Jeroen

This is a very old thread but does anyone know what they built the Warrior 38 rudders with? Assumed it was stainless stock with tangs in glass and foam core but on opening one it looks to be some sort of cement! Grey, very hard and sandy texture. Not my boat but a guy online who is rebuilding one. If it is cement it explains why it is hugely heavy...

Another follower of Mads on Sailife. ;-)

Mad's Warrior 38 is nothing like my Warrior 40 in terms of build quality so I suspect my rudder information is of little help.
I do wonder if his Warrior was mostly a home build. I suggested he ask Geoff (who is still alive and kicking) some months ago but he ignored my comment. Anyway he seems to be having great fun ripping things apart so why interfere?!

Mads by name... I really admire his dedication to his boats and he’s the kind of owner you’d maybe want to buy a boat from but...

I do not think he ignored your comment - his channel is so popular there are insufficient hours in the day to answer or respond to each and every comment. His tactic of inviting comments and suggestions is to encourage involvement.

Yes, I am a fan and he is doing an amazing job but I wonder if I would do such a job on such a boat. A Swan or S&S maybe but...
