A British sailing oppo of mine here in Greece is looking to place an offer on a Warrior 40 (1988) here over the next day or so and asked if I would ask if any of you salts have any experience of the Warrior 40 - anecdotal or otherwise - which may be of use?

For myself, I'm not all that enamoured with the volvo saildrive it has, but this one has just been totally overhauled and new rings etc have been fitted. Apart from that, she has a good spec and seems to be in nice condition. Seems to have most things needed, with the exception of wind vane steering system! Finally, the price is definately at over the top!

So, what do you think about the Warrior 40 as a boat? Does she have a good reputation? They seem solid enough.

Any info would be gratefully recieved and duly rewarded with a drink on us when we come accross you in the Med! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I think she was moored next to me in Levkas Marina last year. She looks to be in fine condition and was not used much last season.
You are right about the price though ---maybe it`s because Williams & Smithells are the brokers --all their yachts seem way ,way overpriced to me.
I was a serious buyer for a Waquiez Ampfitrite from them. That was two years ago, I was offering 12k below the price to buy immediately and they would not put the offer to the owner so I bought somthing else , a lovely Catalina 42 - a much under estimated yacht.
It`s taken them two years to find another buyer ---I see from their website that it`s only "under offer" still and near the price I was offering!!
It`s fair to say that their yachts don¬t seem to move very fast so I would stick in a lower offer and insist that they get that to the owner if he is interested in selling soon.
