Tricolour?

Re: Not fitted on Moody\'s

Correct, but replacing three 10watt bulbs with one, as Vic described, saves the 20watts he mentioned!

(Separate port and starboard light, rather than a bicolour)

Damn. Beaten to it! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Not fitted on Moody\'s

Thanks for the replies everyone. Seems views are divided and given I'm not planning a lot of night sailing; SWMNBO doesn't really like it (altho I do), I think I'll leave it for another day

having one 10 w bulb instead of two saves only 10 w not 20 w

[/ QUOTE ] I knew I should have made that clearer when I wrote it but i opted for brevity!

When i fitted out my boat I originally fitted separate port and starboard lights because IIRC in those days Aquasignal did not make a bicolour in the series 25 range. So with the stern light that makes three times 10 watts.
A year or two latter I fitted the tricolour (with a 10 watt bulb) so when under sail that replaces the three deck level lights 10 watts consumption instead of 30watts, saving 20 watts

Agree about replacing bulbs at the mast head but if it fails I still have the deck level lights that I can use. They have to be there (together with a steaming light)for use under power anyway.

The thing I don't have is an all round white.

And two people even beat me to explain my own post /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
