Just seen on the news that salvage operations are to start soon, apparently they are going to cut
her up using a serrated cable, then lifting the pieces on to a barge,
The operation is expected to take six months to complete, Because of the ammount of shipping in
the vincinity this has been compared to recovering a broken down vehicle in the middle lane of a
motorway,
Should be very interesting to say the least!!!!!!!!
Whats the odds on a major pile up occuring ?

Don't worry they are putting out cones and introducing a congestion charge within 1/2 mile that way nobody will venture anywhere near it.
This is not so silly I am sure that if a ship owner was fined if his ship went within half a mile of the wreck then somehow it would suddenly be possible to reprogramme the route round it.

Varvassi

Varvassi is not a danger to shipping, only to silly bloody yotties, so they let it stay where it is - Yarmouth lifeboat needs the practise.

PS if you have any difficulty finding it, there a damn great lighthouse about a cable due east of it.
