Trespasser

You are now talking to a man of experience, that looks just like mine 9 days before the May 2006 Yarmouth trip. It took 2 of us five hours to get it untangled and down, and back onto my mooring. That included 45 minutes of motoring to a place of shelter, and back.

That's what I thought. If it was a mate and we decided to try, I'd be all over it like a rash, but the thought that the owner may not appreciate the effort and even try to offset his responsibilty towards me, makes me think again. I may tell the warden I'll give the owner a hand if he would like. Then we know who is in the driving seat.

Dear Lakey .......

.......... My neighbour flies a large flag (St George) from the top of his gate which is very obvious from my sitting room and is very distracting and the flapping racket in high wind is maddening. Some weeks after England were home from the World Cup I asked him when it was coming down. He replied 'When I'm ready'. What is the forums general opinion of my idea of sawing through his f'n flagpole?. Have I suffered enough? Especially being a Scot!..

Re: Dear Lakey .......

snuffling around in the darker remains of what used to be my mind, I seem to recall that there are laws / Byelaws governing the public display of flags????

Re: Dear Lakey .......

Now what I can't understand about that is, doesn't it disturb him?

Returning to my original quandry. It was solved when I spoke to a someone who tells me that the original stranding of this boat on the rocks in 2005 was not an insurance job and the contractor who spent over a day lifting it off, then had a long wait for his invoice to be settled. I rather think I don't want to get involved.

Re: Dear Lakey .......

Was mildly surprised the other day to see a White Ensign flying from a pole in a residential street, in the middle of Bedminster, Bristol.

A friend and one-time naval officer once told me that Naval Officers had authority from The Crown to remove and confiscate such illegal goings-on. I hesitated to ring him up and tell him......

Probably a nest of BNP t'ugs.
