A friend of mine who I've been helping today, wanted to pay me for my chores in helping him get an old 1964 Lambretta TV200 running ready for ebay.

I assured him that I thoroughly enjoyed fiddling about with the bike and after many years of it being parked under a heap of blankets, gave me buzz hearing the old 2 stroke once again burst into life! Of course as he was a friend and I refused payment!

On my departure he thrust a litre bottle of whiskey into my arms and something his late father used when he worked for Tate & Lyle sailing the thames barges....... an old palm thimble /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Needless to say I felt honoured to be chosen for such a treasured gift.

My thoughts as well, I've got a couple of halyard bags that need repairing where the stitching is coming undone.

Has to be the first job for me to try the thimble out!

Thanks.....good suggestion.
