Hmmmmm I have treadmaster decks that seem to have been invaded by lichen that leaves dark patches on the deck. These patches are proving impossible to deal with. So far I have tried scrubbing, treadmaster cleaner, moss and algae cleaner for patios and a very thorough power washing, but to no avail. Any ideas? Looking like it was the reason the treadmaster paint failed in the cockpit after 1 season too!

I have had the same problem....and lack of a solution!
I wait with interest for one of the biochemists to respond.

I'm in the same position, best results I've had was wetting the surface then using a scraper to take off the top surface.

I put fairly concentrated Brintons Patio Magic on mine.

That cleared it after a week or two.

Where I missed it's still covered with 'growth'.

Worth a try - you can get 2.5 litre container for about £9.99

When I had the problem I used B&Q patio cleaner applied NEAT with a stiff brush left overnight washed of then used the power washer which did the trick. However I had to have4 a concentrated jet from the PW and as it was quite narrow it took some time to go over the entire area but it cleaned up well. Unfortunately it came back the next winter:mad:

Soak in Hypochlorite solution for a while and then pressure wash off.

You can buy hypochlorite (very cheap) from a farm supplies place, its used for cleaning dairies and milking machines. It's REALLY strong though so be careful.
