The missus and I are off on the ARC and an "Atlantic Circuit" this year. No more work! Can't wait.

Need to source some travel insurance though. All the policies I've looked at seem to stop on your 35th birthday. Does this mean that the 40+ aren't supposed to do this sort of thing?

Any info gratefully received. Need continous cover, not the normal 90 day trip insurance.

I, wife & 2 children were covered by them for 6 years on our travels. Had 1 medical claim, met in full (was 6 years ago though). They specialise in student cover but have travel insurance policies up to age 74. 20% discount if you forego luggage cover. Prices weren't bad when we used them but like all insurance its probably gone way up now.

Happy sailing.

I am with them since years, due to my job.
They may be on the expansive side, but always paid everything without any fuss, and do not set any geographical limit, nor age limit for acceptance.
Of course, the older you are, the higher the first premium. ;-(

But then, they won't push you out .... so is it on the contract, I hope they will stick to that!

This month's issue of Which? magazine does a very comprehensive survey of travel insurance. Worth a look and available at your local library.

I've no intention of jumping out of a perfectly good aeroplane!

Many thanks for everyone's suggestions
