trapper 950

Congratulations on joining the Trapper family, as a T500 owner I am slightly biased, but it would be fair to say that no finer boat can be bought for the money. You are purchasing a very rare model and you would do well to log onto the Trapper owners Forum

Here salty sea dogs will give you all the advice you require, allthough the 950 may be light on owners.

All the best with your new ship

I noticed a Barberis Show 34 for sale in Malta, do you know anything about this yacht, it is with Mediteranian Yacht Sales in Gzira /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Trapper 950s

Hi Again Tyrone,

No, unfortunately not - I currently have a classic Six Metre, but plan to sell in the next 2 years. A T950 really is what I want though, and I see that Alerion of Adur is up for sale again after less than 2 years, in Amble Marina.

There was a great site, dedicated to Trappers, with a big section (contributed to partly by me) on the Mistral 31 (which became the T950), and the 950 (it was at www.clydesailing.co.uk/trappers/T950.html - but I've just discovered that it's gone off-line). It had the makings of a complete catalogue of Mistrals and T950s, the only 950s missing being Eagle Bay and Hi-Flyer.

I also had a very nice e-mail from Rob Humphreys a couple of years ago about Rollercoaster, the Mistral 31 protoype, which came a very close second in the 1982 (?) Half Ton Worlds.

My e-mail address is dave_seer@hotmail.com - I'd love whatever photographs you have.

I wish you all the very best with Eagle Bay - I hope you enjoy her, and hope to hear from you soon.

Cheers

Dave

I sailed 1000's of miles in a Trapper 501 which my uncle built from the hull/mouldings up and it was an extremely safe sea boat, good speed and pointed well. The only reason he sold it was to get a larger cruising boat (GibSea Master 96). As far as I know the boat is still happily sailing the East coast area. The Trapper was a very "strong" boat built well!!

Peter.
